President & CEO of Renegade Communications

Tim Watkins Renegade Communication’s founding investor in 1988, joined the firm full‐ time in 1991. Since then, as chief executive officer, he has turned what was once a small firm into a multi-faceted creative strategic advertising and marketing communications company focused on building their clients’ businesses. As part of his commitment to his Catholic faith, Tim created Messenger Eagle Communications, a Catholic fundraising and communications consulting firm, as a division of Renegade. Tim’s leadership and vision, on top of a wealth of business experience, make him an invaluable resource to client management. He is an award‐winning filmmaker who has written, directed and/or produced films across a wide spectrum of genres: documentary, non‐scripted travel log, scripted and short film.

In addition to building and leading a successfulstrategic and creative marketing communications firm, Tim also holds active leadership positions on many business, community and faith‐based boards and committees, including the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, Maryland Film Industry Commission, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington and in 2014, Tim was installed as a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre by His Eminence Edwin Cardinal O’Brien.

In 1995 Tim co‐founded Leo McWatkins Films, a production company that focuses on programming and documentary filmmaking. Among his many roles, Tim is also an award‐winning filmmaker who has written, directed and/or produced films across a wide spectrum of genres; documentary, non‐scripted travel log, scripted, and short film. He directed and produced the four‐time award‐winning documentary In the Face of Evil: Regan’s War in Word and Deed and The Blood & The Rose a film on the liberation of Mexico featuring the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe in English and Spanish. His other credits include: One Love’s Escalation, Distant Signals, and the award‐winning short film PUSH, A Shortstop in China which is a Telly award‐winning documentary featuring Cal Ripken’s diplomatic envoy to China. Tim was the co‐founder of Grace Before Meals, a movement co‐founded with Fr. Leo Patalinghug. The movement’s goal is to get families back together using meal preparation and the family dinner.

Living in the Baltimore suburbs and, through nearly 36 years of marriage, Tim & Susan are the proud parents of three beautiful children: Megan (34, married to Eric and mother of their three grandchildren, Hattie, Jack, & Theo), Timothy (33, married to Rachel and father of their grandson Eli) and Brian (29).
