Bob Masleid (Distinguished Engineer)

Bob Masleid

Distinguished Engineer

Bob Masleid grew up in a Catholic and Lutheran family. His parents sent him to St. John Bosco parochial school where in 6th grade, their daily Latin Mass switched to English (Vatican 2!). He attended public high school and then a Jewish-dominated college. As a first generation college student, he worked summers in the steel mill labor gangs to help pay for degrees in physics and electrical engineering. Following college, he worked for IBM, HAL, Fujitsu, Transmeta, Sun, and Oracle where he rose to Distinguished Engineer and earned 171 US patents. Since retiring in 2016, he has led two pro-bono projects: Wind-Haber (food) and Gen-IV Fast Neutron (energy). Since moving to California in 1998, Bob and his family have regularly attended St. Lucy Parish in Campbell.
