Born and raised in the small rural Catholic community of Roy, Oregon, Sister Charlene Herinckx attended St Francis School and was taught by the Sister of St Mary's of Oregon (SSMO), which is the only religious community to be founded in Oregon. She entered that same order in 1966 and made her perpetual vows in 1974. After earning a bachelor's degree from Marylhurst University, Sr. Charlene earned a master's degree in education at the University of Portland and a second master's degree from University of San Francisco.

Sister Charlene has an extensive career in education, which has included teaching Middle School in Spokane, serving as both a teacher and principal in her home parish of St. Francis. She spend several years teaching Religion, Algebra, and History of the Pacific Northwest at Valley Catholic, and serving as vice-principal, dean of discipline, and director of student activities at La Salle Prep.

Sister Charlene also plays an important role in fostering vocations, especially for the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon, who strive to live as women of prayer in simplicity and sisterly love. She has served as the SSMO’s vocation director 3 different times for a total of 13 years, while also serving part time in the Archdiocese Vocations Office for 7 years. In the past she has been the Director, Regional Chair, and Coordinator of programs and projects for the National Religious Vocation Conference in Chicago.

In addition, Sr. Charlene was Superior General of the Sisters of St Mary's of Oregon in 2010 and re-elected in 2015. In 2017 University of Portland bestowed their highest honor, the Christus Magister Medal, to Sister Charlene.

Daniel Jones was born and raised on a dairy farm in Snohomish Washington. He attended Washington State University, living in the Catholic Fraternity Phi Kappa Theta and graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education. He then attended and graduated from Stanford in Physical Therapy.
His first job as a physical therapist was in1 962 in Portland, Oregon, where he has lived ever since. After working at St. Vincent’s hospital for a few years, he became a founding partner in a Physical Therapy company called Therapeutic Associates - which just celebrated its 72nd anniversary! Daniel worked with Therapeutic Associates until his retirement in 1999, and is proud to have two sons who are currently partners in the company.
Since 1980, Daniel has been a member of the Serra Club, an international organization of lay Catholics dedicated to fostering vocations. Over time he took on increased responsibility in the organization, starting locally and moving to key roles on the district, regional, and national level. He previously served as the President and on the Board of Serra International, and still continues to serve on their Foundation Board.
Daniel and his first wife raised four children (3 boys and 1 girl) as active members of St Pius X Parish, and he now has 6 grandchildren. His children and grandchildren attended several local Catholic high schools. Several years after his first wife tragically died in a car accident, Daniel married his wife Lynn, who is also very involved in the Serra Club. As a family, they are committed to the Serra Club and have found some of their best friends to be priests, sisters, and lay people who they have met through this great organization!

Rudy Munzel is the owner of Ascent Design/Build Inc, founded in 1993. His companies buy and reposition distressed commercial properties, both apartments and medical. He uses his construction, design, and operational expertise to add value to his properties. Rudy enjoys working with his sons, employees, investors, partners, property managers, financial institutions, and sub-contractors to revive tired properties and create great, lasting relationships.

Rudy attended Catholic Elementary and Secondary School in Canada, and graduated from the University of Oregon in Architecture together with his wife Carrie in 1986. He is a father of 2 sons and 1 daughter, all now in their 20s. Rudy is an active parishioner at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in downtown Portland, where he serves on the Financing Committee. He always seeks to understand what it means to be more like Christ in a real and meaningful way in his daily life!
