Julie is the founder of Career Development Advisors. As a private career coach, she has helped individuals of all ages, levels and backgrounds identify their next career move by guiding individuals to assess their skills, interests and strengths based upon their current values and life situation to discern potential career paths and target jobs. Julie has coached individuals in more than 20 industries and worked with clients in person at her Mechanicsburg office and/or remotely via phone and Zoom, as she coaches individuals not only local to the Harrisburg area, but across the U.S. and internationally.Prior to starting Career Development Advisors, Julie began her career at PHICO Insurance Company as a Human Resources Analyst, responsible the compensation program for 500+ employees. She then moved to PricewaterhouseCoopers where she progressed through local HR Management and Regional HR roles, as the lead HR Manager for the Richmond & Virginia Beach offices as well as supported partners and manager leaders in the Southeast Region. Julie then utilized her HR background to take on coaching/consulting roles and then launched her practice in 2010. Julie is passionate about playing to strengths and building up teams that support one another and does so through her retained recruiting, career development and career coaching services. Julie has also served as a guest speaker/facilitator/moderator for panel discussions on career development, recruiting and career related topics for the past 8 years through Zoom meetings, in-person trainings for small groups as well as national stages. Julie earned her Bachelor of HR from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, and has been a Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources since 2010, which requires continuing education to recertify every three years. In addition, Julie has been a Kolbe™ Certified Consultant since 2016, which also requires continuing education annually. Julie is a member of SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management), the local SHRM Chapter, Human Resource Professionals of Central PA, the National Career Development Association, the PACDA- PA Career Development Association, Julie enjoys and believes in taking an active role in the community. She is an active volunteer at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton as well as Trinity High School in Southcentral Pennsylvania and a volunteer with Holy Family Radio. Prior leadership roles include serving on the board of the Camp Hill Aquatic Club, Programming Committee for the local Business Women’s Forum, College Relations Chairperson for Human Resources Professionals of Central PA and advisory board member of the Jobs Assistance Ministry serving those in job transition for St. Michael Church in Richmond, VA. Julie has also volunteered her time at the Carlisle Barracks facilitating workshops on personal branding for transitioning military in Pennsylvania and various workshops for Dress for Success- Suits to Careers.
