Fr. Anthony Sortino
Chaplain at Legionaries of ChristFr. Anthony was born April 2, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York. His family moved to Arizona, when he was nine, where his family still lives. As a teenager he became involved with the confirmation program and later with Life Teen, discovering his vocation working with youth and families.
After a few years studying architecture and studio arts at Arizona State, he joined the Legionaries of Christ in 1994, part of the Regnum Christi family. He received his bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and theology at the Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome. He also completed a year of classical studies of Latin, Greek and the Liberal Arts in Salamanca, Spain. As an intern he spent three years in Argentina and two years in Valencia. He was a seminary instructor in Rome, Connecticut and New York. He has ministered to the faithful as a spiritual director and retreat director over the last several years in Washington DC, Raleigh NC, Dallas, Texas and San Jose, CA. He served as chaplain of the Young Catholic Professionals of Silicon Valley for seven years.
Fr Anthony has recently been assigned to be chaplain and formation director at Clear Water Academy, another Regnum Christi school, the fourth he has been privileged to serve at in his priesthood. He continues to be the virtual chaplain of the Catholic Googlers.
