Tony has spent his entire life in a family owned and operated business. Beginning in the 1960’s as Maas Brothers Meats, in the 1970’s becoming Jack Maas Meats with 2 locations specializing in specialty meats and meals along with catering and in 1980 the Maas family formed J.T.M. Food Group. J.T.M. stands for the initials of their father John Thomas Maas and also the four sons: Jack Jr, Joe, Jerry, and Tony Maas and daughter, Mary Lou graduates of Elder and Seton High School. J.T.M. being a food manufacturer of foodservice, school, military, restaurant, and retail food products are distributing products on a national basis and to our troops abroad.
Tony was appointed President and CEO of J.T.M. in 1988 and he has held that position for the last 35 years to date. Starting at the age of 27, Tony along with his brothers have led the
J.T.M. family business to a sales growth of $8,000,000 in 1988 to sales of $320,000,000 in 2022. J.T.M. Produced 155,000,000 pounds of our Core Kettle Products in 2022 such as Queso dip, beer cheese base, macaroni and cheese, and taco meat.
In 2016 Tony led an ambitious expansion opening in 2018. A new manufacturing plant that currently runs 2 production lines with capacity of 165,000,000 pounds of kettle product. The expansion continues in 2022 with additional production capacity to grow to 250,000,000 pounds. Along with the new manufacturing facility the expansion included a 20,000 pallet robotic distribution center. J.T.M. currently employs 650 Team Members.
J.T.M. celebrated its 40 Year Anniversary in 2020. The new manufacturing plant sets JTM up for the Next 40 years.
In 2021 Tony was awarded the Carl H. Lindner Award for Entrepreneurship and Civic Duty .
Tony and his family believe that their Catholic values which were received from their grandparents, parents, and their Catholic education are the core values in which they are operating their business and their personal lives today.
JTM is proud to acknowledge their Catholic Faith and God in their workplace and abroad and it officially tithes the company profits to ministries that uphold these values.
Tony and his wife Barb have been married for 42 years. They have 5 children and 11 grandchildren.
