Fr Vinh Pham joined the Legionaries of Christ in 2009 at the age of 25 and was ordained in May 2021. He is the fourth of seven children in a Vietnamese immigrant family; his parents escaped Vietnam by boat after the war with their three children under five, making Fr Vinh the first American-born member of his family.
During his 13 years of formation—an average within the congregation—he resided in Connecticut, Italy, the Philippines, Washington, D.C., and Cincinnati. The congregation's missionary spirit has enabled him to learn and speak four languages. He earned bachelor's degrees in philosophy and theology in Rome, Italy.
In the first two years of his priesthood, Fr Vinh served as the youth director for the congregation's youth programs in Washington, D.C. He is currently the regional vocation director for the Legionaries of Christ, based in Cincinnati. Fr Vinh considers the greatest blessing of his vocation to be the privilege of being called “Father” and loving as a father to many.
