Mike Donoghue was named Executive Director of Catholic Charites of Fairfield County on December 1, 2019. Prior to joining Catholic Charites, he worked for 19 years at Morgan Stanley where he helped to found and build the High Yield Bond and Distressed Debt trading business. He was named a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in 1996. Subsequently he joined Phoenix Investment Advisor, an investment management firm, in 2006 as their President.
Mike serves on the Board of Directors of Supportive Housing Works, the Order of Malta American Association Board of Councillors, and the Darien Little League Board. Mike is a former Board Member of St. Catherine Academy, the Malta Human Services Foundation (President) and of the Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T) Children’s Project. Mike is a Knight of Malta and currently serves as Co-Area Chair for the Southwestern Connecticut Area with his wife, Cece. Mike and Cece are founding members and former co-Presidents of the Fairfield County Legatus chapter.
Mike has a passion for working with individuals with Special Needs and volunteers as Head Coach and Commissioner of the Darien Challenger Baseball League, a position he has held since 2010. The Challenger program serves children with disabilities from ages 5 to 21 enabling them to participate in team sports in a fun and supportive environment. The program is the largest of its kind in Connecticut.
Mike graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in Economics and has an MBA from Harvard Business School. Mike and Cece live in Darien, CT where they raised their 5 grown children.
