Join YCP Philly with Christ in the City to serve lunch on April 13th! Christ in the City is addressing the most debilitating needs for the homeless in the streets, the underlying need for human connection. Missionaries walk the same street routes building friendships with the homeless. And in doing so, we are re-cultivating a foundation in someone to have hope, walking with our homeless friends toward healing and re-integration into society.
First time volunteers are required to attend training at Christ in the City at 10:00 AM the morning before Lunch in the Park. This training equips volunteers to encounter the Homeless. All volunteers must signup at this link: https://christinthecity.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=69651
10:00am - 11:30 pm: Required First-Time Volunteer - Attend Training at the Christ in the City House (4433 Almond St Philadelphia, PA 19137)
11:45am - 1:15pm Lunch in the Park in Center City (Cathedral lawn on the corner of 18th and Race)
Volunteers are also welcome to bring donations (socks, water bottles, granola bars) if they'd like! Those will be stored at CIC for the missionaries to take to the streets with them.
