Young adults in their 20s and 30s are invited to join the Portland Chapter of Young Catholic Professionals for a free Executive Speaker Series on Tuesday, June 13, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral in Portland. We are excited to welcome Laura Parker, Director of Marketing Communications for Thought Leadership at Siemens Digital Industries, as our speaker! The evening includes a talk/Q&A with Laura about living your faith in the workplace, fellowship, free appetizers and drinks, and prayer.

When you arrive, we suggest parking in the big lot on Davis Street and then walking around to the front of the Cathedral on Couch Street to enter through the courtyard. We will be there to let you in! Please arrive before 7:30 p.m. if possible, since we will be moving inside for the talk. If you arrive later and need someone to let you in, please email us at info@ycpportland.org.

About Our Speaker

Laura Parker is a Director of Marketing Communications for Thought Leadership within the $6 billion Siemens Digital Industries Software division. Her team is focused on developing and executing high-impact outbound communications for key thought leadership topics. This initiative requires working closely with a range of internal experts and executives to communicate the Siemens unique value to key industries.

In prior roles, Laura was part of a core team that worked directly with the CEO of Mentor Graphics on his outbound speaking and editorial content as the company grew to be a $1.5 billion dollar leader. Previous to that, Laura spent over a decade in Portland's second largest advertising and PR firm as Senior Strategist and Writer focused on high tech corporate accounts including Intel, Flir, Tektronics, Mentor Graphics, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett Packard – to mention a few. She started her career as an electronics design engineer for five years in Tektronix' Semiconductor Test Division.

Laura holds a B.S. in electronics engineering from Portland State University as well as a B.A. in English literature (along with full majors in History and Philosophy) from Gonzaga University. Laura has been married for nearly 35 years and has 5 grown children, one of whom is Jack Parker, our very own Director of Outreach! She is an active member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church, serving in a variety of parish volunteer activities over the years.
