YCP is proud to partner with University of Portland's Garaventa Center for Catholic Intellectual Life and American Culture to bring you this panel discussion themed: Vision and Vocation: People with Hope to Bring. Executive Panel Discussions promote focused conversation about living virtuously in the workplace. The event will include a classy social reception with drinks and appetizers, a spiritual reflection, a panel on the virtue of patience with our 3 guests, and table discussions. Guests are encouraged to wear elevated business casual.

MEET OUR PANELISTS
Daniel McGinty, Ed.D. serves at the University of Portland as Director of the Dundon-Berchtold Institute for Moral Formation & Applied Ethics. For the last eight years, he has team-taught a course with the University President titled The Character Project and coordinates the campus- wide, interdisciplinary Research in the Application of Ethics program. His research interests include the durability and texture of formative and transformative learning experiences. Current initiatives include connecting professionals in Portland with students to discuss practical ethics through a dynamic storytelling protocol and internships featuring structured conversations about vocational fit and the moral moments of work.
Steve Waters is the CEO of Backwoods Brewing Company, a family-owned craft brewery based in the Pacific Northwest. Under his leadership, Backwoods Brewing has grown to include three pub locations, a brewery, a grocery store, and a unique cabin rental business. Steve has been dedicated to fostering community through his business, emphasizing stewardship and a welcoming atmosphere in every aspect of the company. He is also the founder of the Backwoods Foundation, which fights childhood hunger through local food programs.
A lifelong Catholic, Steve attended the University of Portland, where he deepened his commitment to faith, community, and leadership. He and his family are parishioners at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Camas, WA. As a husband and father of four, Steve strives to live out his vocation as a family man while integrating faith and values into his professional life.
Lilia Grundy is the Director of Corporate Partnerships at University of Portland's School of Business. With over 25 years of corporate experience, Lilia has worked with major brands such as Kraft Foods, NBC Television, and Telemundo in sales and marketing. She has led communications and PR across the legal, educational, and nonprofit sectors. Lilia serves on the Board of Directors for The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother (The Grotto). She is a contributing writer for Catholic Mom, and she launched Catholic Women Professionals (CWP) to inspire other working women to grow in their faith.
