DETAILS FOR THE DAY:

  • Meet in front of the Chapel of Mary at 9 a.m. to begin our service project. A place will be designated to store our belongings.
  • We will be removing invasive ivy and wild clematis from the trees located throughout the property. we will be working in the forest, so there will be areas of thick brush and other vegetation that we will be working in.
  • Volunteers will need to wear clothing appropriate for the terrain. Suggested clothing includes sturdy work boots or shoes, as well as pants and long sleeve shirts to help keep the mosquitos under control.
  • We will need to bring work gloves and if possible, bring any gardening tools you may have for cutting the ivy. While can be pulled without cutting, some sort of pruners would be helpful.
  • We will work until around 10:45 a.m. and take a short break to wash up before our private tour of the beautiful upper gardens at 11 a.m. There is a special grove dedicated to our patron, Saint Joseph!
  • We will return to the Chapel of Mary for Mass at 12 p.m.
